It is a real journey through the 20th century and the 21st century that the Galerie Mathivet will present to you in its stand.
They will go back in time to the origins of Design with an exceptional parchment desk decorated with dragonflies by Carlo Bugatti, made around 1902 in its original state. Both precious for the richness of its decor and powerful for its copper-covered base, this lady's desk continues to inspire contemporary creations.
Let's move on to the 1930s with an art deco table in amboyna burl and shagreen top created by Maison DIM. Yves Saint Laurent also owned this model which he had placed in his famous music room decorated with mirrors by Claude Lalanne in the heart of his Parisian apartment. Its modern lines always arouse the interest of collectors.
How not to talk about Alberto Giacometti when you have to find an emblematic piece that has survived the ages.
The "Tete de Femme" lamp was created in 1933-34 for Jean Michel Franck. Even today, there is no interior designer who does not integrate it into their projects and it is quite naturally that it is present in all the great collectors.
The 21st century will be dominated by an exceptional piece . This "Tortue Topiaire II" sculpture wonderfully evokes the poetic and playful universe of François-Xavier Lalanne.
A " Tortue Topiaire" was presented at the "Les Lalannes à Versailles" exhibition in 2021.
